The Shelter Support Specialist is responsible for providing case management and administrative (recording keeping) to the staff in the Someplace Else Youth Shelter, particularly the Youth and Family Counselors. Coordinating and scheduling all intakes, ensuring appropriate documentation of referrals and intakes according to the program’s contractual requirements. Effectively provide services to youth and families referred to the shelter by demonstrating a comprehensive working knowledge of policies/procedures. Take incoming referral calls, maintain and update the shelter pending admissions according to the needs of referrals and bed availability. Enter all residential and non-residential screenings into Netmis, HMIS and JJIS. Assists the Clinical Director-Residential Services in the development and implementation of group curricula and staff training.
