Why our communities need CCYS

   Childhood in Florida means:

  • 55,149 runaway children reported in 1994  (1,027 in Leon County)
  • 192,841 out of school suspensions in 1994-1995 
  • 241% increase in Juvenile Felony Crime in Leon County between 1982-1992 -- a 95% increase statewide
   Capital City Youth Services means: 
  • Support -- 85% of shelter residents return home when they leave the shelter
  • Prevention -- six months after completing services, over 83% of our youths have NOT been reported as delinquent or dependent to State authorities
  • Success -- for families and children.
