Someplace Else Crisis Shelter

Services are free and include:

  • Family, youth, and group counseling
  • Customized, individualized approach
  • 24-hour awake supervision by qualified and caring staff
  • Unique “Time Out” program providing parents and children a cooling period and opportunity to calmly address problems
  • Instruction and encouragement in goal setting
  • Strategies for personal development
  • Referrals for external services, including: medical, dental, legal, transitional living
  • Opportunities for recreational activities and community service outlets for youth to give back
  • Art & Music Therapy sessions

Contact Information for Youth:

  • For immediate shelter, contact 850-576-6000 Ext. 1.
  • Or, visit a Safe Place site and inform the employee that you would like to go somewhere safe. Shelter staff will be contacted, and will arrange for you to be picked up and brought to the shelter.
  • Come to the shelter directly, or ask to be transported by a friend or family member.

Contact Information for Referrals:

  • Parents, teachers, law enforcement, or church staff may refer a youth.
  • Referral forms may be sent via fax to 850-576-2580 and will be reviewed during normal business hours.
