Q. Why Sleep Out?
A. Giving up the comforts of home to spend one night under the stars is a simple way of showing support of homeless youth in our community, and hopefully, together we will raise some money and awareness to support these youth along the way.

Q. What is expected of each participant? And how much do I need to fundraise?
A. We expect each Sleep Out Leader to approach this event with an open mind, an open heart, and a passion to spread the word about homeless youth. All participants are asked to fundraise and will be provided with a personal website/platform and help along the way. We are challenging all participants to either raise $870, representing the number of homeless youth reported in Leon County. Or participants can create a team of  2 or more members, and raise $1850 which represents the total number of homeless youth reported in the Big Bend area. You can do this by donating yourself and asking your friends, co-workers, and family to donate to your Sleep Out cause.

Q. Who can sleep out?
A. Anyone older than 18 years of age can participate. Space is limited so please email if you want to be a Sleep Out Leader!

Q. I want to get involved, what’s the next Step?
A. Visit and click on the ‘create a fundraiser’ button to setup your personal fundraising platform and become a Sleep Out Leader or Team. By setting up this platform you are registering to fundraise and participate in the Sleep Out event.

Q. What if I am unable to attend the Sleep Out event, can I still fundraise?
A. We encourage all Sleep Out Leaders to commit to sleeping outside at the event, however, we will not turn away awesome folks who want to fundraise for CCYS! Please contact us if you would like to participate but are unable to attend the event on November 3.

Q. What should I bring to Sleep Out? Can a friend or family member Sleep Out with me?
A. We suggest you wear comfortable clothes and bring a sleeping bag. CCYS will provide you with a box, security, and an unforgettable experience. Due to space constraints, only registered participants are allowed to attend the Sleep Out.

Q. I can not Sleep Out, but want to be involved in this event. How can I get involved?
A. We understand everyone can not participate by sleeping out and that is ok! If you are not able to accept the challenge by Sleeping Out with us, we would still love for you to join us for a Community Dinner & Discussion the night of the Sleep Out on November 3, from 7:00-8:00pm. There will be a suggested donation of $20 for attending the Community Dinner.
